Mission-Chiropractic to trek to Tibet

Peter Morgan, DC, head of the Mission-Chiropractic humanitarian organization, has announced that it is organizing a special trip to Lhasa, Tibet for August 3-13. The journey will combine a study of chiropractic philosophy and spiritualism with the opportunity to provide chiropractic care to that remote area.

Instruction will also be provided in dream yoga with one of the world’s foremost lucid dream authorities, Dr. Michael Katz, who has more than 30 years experience in dream yoga in both the Eastern and Western traditions. He is a clinical psychologist who has lectured and led workshops around the world on dream yoga and lucidity for personal growth and enlightenment.

In the western tradition, Katz studied in Ericksonian hypnotherapy, Reichian therapy, Gestalt, Embodied Dream Imagery, and psychodrama. In the Eastern tradition he has practiced Tibetan Buddhism and Dzogchen meditation since 1974 under some of the most famous masters of Tibet.

“As editor of the book ‘Dream Yoga,’ author of ‘White Dolphin’ and the forthcoming book ‘Dreams the Royal road to Enlightenment,’ Michael is opening hearts and minds with the ancient traditions of dream yoga,” explained Dr. Morgan. “This summer, on the roof of the world, Michael will lead us to enhance creativity, self-exploration, and spiritual/psychological growth through powerful techniques of lucid dreaming derived principally from the Tibetan dream yoga tradition. Lucidity within the dream state represents exceptional potential, and is a gateway to mastery of the dream process.

“Participants will join Michael as he induces lucidity within our dreams by combining deep relaxation training and induction. Afterwards we will deepen our dream material through the process of psychodrama.” The workshop will take place in what many believe are “high energy” sacred places of Tibet, locations intended to enhance and develop the capacity of dream lucidly.

Widely known for his chiropractic missions to Central and South America (including his record-breaking mission to Haiti and the Dominican Republic, which cared for some 56,000 people in four days) Morgan is a frequent speaker at the New Beginnings Chiropractic Philosophy seminars and has lectured in many other chiropractic venues.

The mission to Tibet also includes a stopover in Beijing, where chiropractors will adjust people in the Forbidden City, in the Yong He Gong Monastery and White Cloud Temple. Time will be available to visit the Summer Palace and many other Beijing attractions.

From Beijing, the team will fly to Lhasa and then drive to the Samye Monastery, Tibet’s first Buddhist temple, thought to be originally built between 775 and 779 CE and still considered the spiritual center of Tibet.

About one thousand practitioners are in residence at Samye Monastery, Samye Buddhist University, and in retreat at the Samye Chimpu caves in the mountain oasis behind the monastery where both monastics and nagpas cultivate all aspects of the Buddha Dharma. Many great masters come from all over Tibet, China and India to bestow empowerments, teachings, and blessing. During major temple ceremonies, thousands come to dance and sing in the mandala that bestows all wishes.

The chiropractic team will make chiropractic adjustments available to all those in the area, Morgan stated.

In addition to the Samye Monastery, the team will travel to the caves of Drak Young Zul, Chuwo Ri, Drak Yerpa, and to the hot Springs of the Drikung Kagyu nunnery as well as other famed locations in Tibet.

Before returning home on August 12, the team will once more stop at Beijing and adjust people in the Forbidden City, The Summer Palace, The Great Wall, The Yong He Gong Monastery, The Great White Stupa Temple, and Guang Ji Temple.

The cost for the trip, which includes transportation in China and Tibet, meals and accommodations, and classes on dream yoga with Michael Katz and chiropractic philosophy and chiropractic mission work with Dr. Peter Morgan is approximately $4,600, depending on date of registration and form of payment.
